Incontri con i mestieri della Musica’ (Meetings with the Professions of Music) is the title of the musical review that will feature three appointments at Imperia’s Biblioteca Civica L. Lagorio. The event, organised by the City of Imperia with the artistic collaboration of Stefano Senardi, a well-known record manager from Imperia, aims to explore the various aspects of music through thematic encounters. The review is divided into two distinct moments: Thursday at 6 p.m. with meetings open to the public, and Friday morning at 10 a.m. with appointments dedicated to schools. The cycle of meetings will begin with graphics in music and posters, scheduled on 10 October (for the public) and 11 October (for schools).
Paolo De Francesco, an expert in music graphics, will lead participants on a journey to discover the link between visual art and music, focusing on the importance of album covers and the role of the graphic designer in the construction of an artist’s image. The second event is scheduled for 21 November (22 November for schools) and will focus on how a record company is organised today.
Music industry expert Luca Fantacone will give an overview of the evolution of record companies over the last 40 years, illustrating the changes in corporate roles, market priorities and catalogue management in the digital era. The review will conclude with History of Music: the 70s and 80s, scheduled for 12 December (for the public) and 13 December (for schools), where Luca De Gennaro will analyse two fundamental decades for music, exploring the role of radio, music videos and new emerging technologies that marked that period.
