Carpasina Festival

“Carpasina“ was the shepherds‘ barley bread capable of lasting many days in the pasture, in fact it must be softened in thewater before consumption seasoned with olive oil, garlic, tomato, anchovies and basil leaves. Theuse ofbarley to obtain flour with which to make bread dates back to the times when wheat was not readily available and other grains were therefore used. Even today, the flour used to make this bread is stone ground because metal ruins the resulting flour.

For the pastcouple of years this typical dish has become a De.Co. product. (Denominazione Comunale di Origine):this procedure will ensure respect for the traditional recipe by helping to enhance its tourist value. In fact, it is a dish rooted inthe agro-pastoral essence of the area.

The De.Co. symbol is a lavender heart, which also enshrines with this symbolthe union between the two countries (Montalto romantic village and Carpasio Lavender Museum).

Sunday, September 3 will include the start of tastings at 4 p.m. with bar and restaurant service, craft market, music and entertainment. From 8 p.m. Dance night with “Cristian & La luna nueva Band” feat “DJ DAVE COX.”

The Lavender Museum in the village is open and can be visited all day, as is the Museum of Resistance in the hamlet of Costa.

Possibility of taking the shuttle bus from Carpasio to Costa in order to visit the Museum of Resistance. Shuttle hours: from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
